Tillsonburg Hydro Inc. (THI) is a licensed electricity distribution company servicing over 8,400 customers in the Town of Tillsonburg / County of Oxford. THI is pleased to announce an opening for a four-month cooperative work term beginning in May 2024 at our Customer Service Centre. This position is responsible for assisting the Engineering/Operations team with various functions.
This is a seasonal student position with an option to enroll in OMERS defined benefit pension plan.
Department: Hydro Operations
Reports To: Manager of Hydro Operations and Design
Contract: June 2, 2025 to August 29, 2025
Hourly Rate: $26.15/hour
Weekly Hours: 40

Responsibilities
- Prepare and create electrical service layouts using AutoCAD.
- Data collection of utility assets and updating of mapping system using ESRI GIS
- Prepare reports using Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and other computer programs.
- Assist in the development of construction drawings using relevant industry standards and specifications as per current regulations.
- Assist with pole line structural analysis using SpidaCalc.
- Assist the Operations Departments with workflow and processing of information.
- Work both inside and outside the office and on construction sites.
- All other work as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in College Engineering program.
- Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft Applications and AutoCAD.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- GIS experience will be considered an asset.
- Must have valid Class G driver's license.
- Student must supply their own safety boots
- Must be returning to school in the Fall.
